Turisme Comunitat Valenciana expects to carry out more than 200 tourism promotion actions in 20 different markets during 2021. This is included in the Annual Operating Plan that Turisme Comunitat Valenciana has together with Turespaña and with the collaboration of the six tourism brands of the Valencian Community.

According to the regional secretary of Turisme, Francesc Colomer, “the promotion of the Comunitat Valenciana in international markets continues, although it has been adapted to the circumstances in which we live”.

Colomer stressed that the promotional activities planned for this year “are being adapted as the health situation develops, so during these first few months we are working with virtual activities, workshops, fairs, meetings and online forums, such as last week’s participation in the virtual edition of the ITB in Berlin, next week’s participation in Fly Valencia Meeting and the virtual edition of the IGTM golf fair”.

For Colomer, the confirmation that FITUR will be held in-person from 19 to 23 May, or fairs such as Navartur in Pamplona or B-Travel in Barcelona, towards the end of May and beginning of June, in which TCV plans to participate, “could be, if the health situation allows it, the starting shot to recover face-to-face activities at a national level”.

The head of Turisme stressed that over the last year, tourism marketing and promotion “have also had to adapt to the situation caused by the pandemic, both on the demand side, with a previously unknown contraction, and on the supply side, with a major restructuring of part of the market”.

In this regard, he indicated that the pandemic “has acted in the promotion as an accelerator of trends already existing in the market in recent years, such as digitalisation, specialisation by products and segments, and greater support for the marketing of companies”.

“These trends, which we were already working with before this crisis, are the ones we are going to reinforce in our promotion strategy in the coming months,” he said.
