The park, which has a surface area of around 2,000 square metres, has two areas with a multitude of different exercises, two abdominal benches, jumping bars, climbing bars, triple bars, indicative signs, benches, etc.

The Department of Parks and Gardens (concejalía de Parques y Jardines) has given the green light to the construction of a calisthenics park, with an approximate surface area of 2,000 square metres, which will be located in Nueva Torrevieja, between Emil, Santa Petra and Bella Antonia streets. Callisthenics is a system of physical exercises using one’s own body weight. It is also a training discipline that is becoming increasingly popular in the world of fitness.

Carmen Gómez Candel, councillor in charge of Parks and Gardens, reports that the model chosen is designed to perform multiple exercises and develop different physical capacities, such as strength, flexibility, muscular endurance, coordination and balance.

The impact-absorbing area will be made of fine, double-washed sand with a base to prevent weeds from growing in it.
Finally, Gómez Candel informed that the execution of this callisthenics park is being carried out through a contract awarded to the company PARQUES INFANTILES DEL LEVANTE S.L. for a total amount of 46,821 euros (VAT included), and could be completed during the month of July.
