The Costa del Sol has more than 150 kilometers of coastline in the province of Malaga, and its name says it all: more than 325 days of sunshine a year.<\/p>\n

Each town on the Costa del Sol has very charming beaches. Some are more bustling than others, there are quiet and solitary ones, there are even some virgins with vegetation, but almost all of them are equipped with services.<\/p>\n

Due to this, it is one of the most visited areas by tourists who mainly seek to enjoy a few days of sun and beach.<\/p>\n

In addition to its beaches, its towns and cities are also of great interest and make a visit more than recommended. So, below, we recommend some destinations from which to enjoy the Costa del Sol:<\/p>\n

1-M\u00e1laga<\/h2>\n

The capital of the Costa del Sol and one of the most popular and visited destinations. In addition to beach tourism, Malaga offers visitors many alternatives: museums, leisure, monuments, gastronomy, shopping…<\/p>\n

We recommend that during your visit you do not forget to visit the main monuments: the Alcazaba, the Cathedral, the Roman Theater and the Gibralfaro Castle. You should also not leave Malaga without visiting its main museums, such as the Picasso Museum, and walking along its well-known Larios Street, one of the most striking streets in the country.<\/p>\n

2-Torremolinos<\/h2>\n

Torremolinos is one of the economic engines of the province thanks, among others, to its tourism industry and the activity generated by the Palace of Congresses and Exhibitions of the Costa del Sol.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, it is a city steeped in history and that is reflected in many remains that remain present, such as the Torre del Homenaje. And, of course, its main attraction is the beaches. Some of the most important are: El Bajandillo, La Carihuela, Los \u00c1lamos and Playamar.<\/p>\n

3-Marbella<\/h2>\n

Marbella<\/a> is another of the strong points of the Costa del Sol. It is a city with a wide range of hotels and leisure activities that attracts thousands of visitors every year. Both in Marbella and in the towns and urbanizations that surround it, there are many excellent beaches.<\/p>\n

In addition, golf lovers will also find a good number of courses where they can enjoy that sport. And at night, Marbella’s nightlife will keep you from getting bored.<\/p>\n

4-Mijas<\/h2>\n

Benalm\u00e1dena is a municipality in the province of M\u00e1laga. Currently, it is one of the main tourist destinations on the Costa del Sol, due to its leisure establishments: amusement parks, two aquariums, a casino, a cable car and one of the largest marinas in Andalucia.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, you cannot leave Benalm\u00e1dena without stopping by the El Bil Bil Castle, a curious construction from 1934 located on the beachfront; not even without visiting its famous amusement parks Selwo Marina and Selwo Aventura.<\/p>\n

6-Fuengirola<\/h2>\n

It is a city that has a wide range of tourist services, which makes it another of the strong points of the Costa del Sol. It has excellent beaches, some of the most notable are Los Boliches, Fuengirola, La Campana, Torreblanca and The Seagulls.<\/p>\n

In general, the beaches of Fuengirola are low, sandy and with calm waters, although they require annual contributions of sand, which is usually fine-grained golden or dark. They are all accessible from the Paseo Mar\u00edtimo and have a high level of occupancy, since they are very well-kept beaches and have all the necessary services to spend a great day at the beach with family or friends.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, you cannot leave the city without visiting the Sohail Castle which, thanks to its location, is an excellent viewpoint of the Costa del Sol and the Sierra de Mijas.<\/p>\n

7-Nerja<\/h2>\n

The protagonists in Nerja are the beaches, coves, and cliffs. Its coast has whimsical shapes that give rise to these three formations, creating an environment of great natural beauty.<\/p>\n

In its historic center is one of the most characteristic points of the town, the Balc\u00f3n de Europa. A lively walk that offers excellent views of the Mediterranean Sea.<\/p>\n

You should not leave Nerja without visiting its cave, declared a Historical-Artistic Monument. It is a place of great beauty where you can see surprising geological formations. In addition, it has great archaeological interest since cave paintings from the Paleolithic are found inside.<\/p>\n

8-Estepona<\/h2>\n

Estepona<\/a> is another of the most popular destinations on the Costa del Sol. It is a municipality that has managed to preserve its Andalusian atmosphere and style. The historic center stands out for its white houses decorated with flowerpots. We recommend you walk through its streets and savour this atmosphere while discovering all its corners.<\/p>\n

In addition, Estepona has 21 kilometers of coastline with excellent beaches where you can lie in the sun and take a swim in the Mediterranean Sea.<\/p>\n

9-Torrox<\/h2>\n

Torrox is another typically Andalusian municipality, marked by the white of its houses are decorated with flowerpots.
