Het is ongeveer 25 meter breed, wat vrij breed is voor een stadsstrand. Het strand ligt in het noorden van Torrevieja, tussen de baai van Palangre en de kliffen van Calas Blancas. Los Locos heeft een gemakkelijke, geleidelijke instap in het water; de diepte neemt geleidelijk toe, wat handig is voor gezinnen met kinderen. Maar hier en daar liggen er stenen, dus wees voorzichtig bij het te water gaan. Er is een bushalte vlakbij het strand (route A). Je kunt er ook met de auto komen (parkeren is toegestaan langs het hele strand), maar de meeste vakantiegangers komen nog steeds te voet naar Los Locos. Het water is hier in de zomer veel schoner.
