About what interesting events await residents and visitors of Torrevieja, as well as nearby towns in the province of Alicante, at the end of this week.
APRIL 23–26. Exhibition of Works by Picasso, Warhol, Murakami and Other Great Artists
Until May 18, the Sea Museum of Santa Pola is hosting an exhibition of works by Pablo Picasso, Andy Warhol, Takashi Murakami, Marc Chagall and other great Spanish and international artists from the Vicente Aguilera Cerni Museum of Contemporary Art in Vilafamés (MACVAC) and from the collection of Mariano Poyatos and Filomena De Lorenzo (Espai Nivi gallery). Many of the works on display are previously unpublished paintings and recent additions to the MACVAC holdings and the Espai Nivi collection, making this project a unique opportunity to discover them. The two collections, built around four themes – “The Body”, “Rituals”, “Landscapes of the Soul” and “Transcendence” – invite visitors to follow a path leading from the most physical and biographical experience to the realms of abstraction and sign. As the exhibition curators note, “it does not offer a closed discourse, but rather presents a process of searching, a journey inward, in which each work becomes a threshold and each room a dwelling in which the visitor inhabits at their own pace.”
- Opening hours – from 10:00 to 13:00, from 16:00 to 19:00 (Tuesday–Saturday) and from 11:00 to 13:30 (Sunday).
