A selection of interesting events awaiting residents and visitors of Torrevieja, as well as nearby towns in the province of Alicante, at the end of this week.

15 July. “Tango for Dinner” theatre performance

El Faro Experimental Theatre, located in Torrevieja at Calle Antonio Ruiz Coves, 6, invites audiences to the performance “Tango for Dinner”, based on Marc Camoletti’s play “Playing Happy Families, or Garnish à la française”.

A weekend in a country house turns into complete chaos: a husband and wife plan to spend it not together, but with their lovers. Each hides the truth and invents excuses, but the lies only make the situation more confusing. Unexpected encounters and absurd coincidences lead to everything going completely off plan, and no one understands what is really happening anymore.

Start – 20:30, ticket prices – 20, 25 and 50 euros.

16–19 July. Cirque du Soleil tour

Until 23 August, Cirque du Soleil will be performing in Alicante on San Juan beach, Avenida Costablanca, 168, with the show “KURIOS – Cabinet of Curiosities”.

This inspiring production tells the story of the Seeker – an inventor and owner of a cabinet of curiosities who believes in the existence of a hidden and invisible world beyond our own. In his improvised realm, inhabited by characters from another world, the collection comes to life and makes everything around him fascinating.

The show reveals the signature Cirque du Soleil style in a new way, combining spectacular acrobatics with poetry, art and humour. The show premiered in Montreal in 2014. Since then, Cirque du Soleil has captivated more than 6 million spectators in over 40 cities worldwide, giving more than 3,000 performances with a troupe of 50 artists.
