19 MARCH. Children’s musical “La Isla de Maui: Tributo a Vaiana”

At the Kinépolis cinema center in Alicante, the children’s musical “La Isla de Maui: Tributo a Vaiana” will be presented. Its premiere took place in November 2024. The story tells of Vaiana, a brave girl and the daughter of a chief from a tribe of seafarers, who sets off on an adventure across the ocean to save her island and discover her true destiny. On this journey, she will be accompanied by the demigod Maui, and together they will face difficulties and learn how important friendship, courage, and a bond with nature are.

20 MARCH. Concert by the band “Без обмежень”

At the VB Spaces concert venue, located in Alicante at Avinguda d´Elx, 186, there will be a concert by the Ukrainian band “Без обмежень”, which is touring European countries with its “Сильні серця” tour.

20 MARCH. Friday market in Torrevieja

Every Friday, the Torrevieja street market operates in Parque Antonio Soria – one of the largest small-business centers in the Vega Baja region. Covering an area of 82,000 sq. m, it hosts up to 700 stalls and retail spaces with food, clothing, footwear, accessories, and other goods at affordable prices compared with major supermarket chains. The Torrevieja market offers many conveniences, such as free parking, public toilets, and a taxi rank. Every 20 minutes, from 8:00 to 14:00, a bus departs that is accessible for people with reduced mobility or wheelchair users.

20 MARCH. “Música sin fronteras” festival

Until 27 March, the 19th “Música sin fronteras” (“Music Without Borders”) Festival is held every week at the Ciudad Quesada Cultural Center in Rojales, organized by the Department of Culture of the town hall. The festival has established itself as a cultural landmark of the province of Alicante thanks to its commitment to musical quality and artistic diversity. The program features artists of national and international level, offering the public works of high artistic value.

20 MARCH. Concert “Lo Mejor de Ennio Morricone”

At the Archaeological Museum of Alicante (MARQ), the string quartet Noor Quartet will perform as part of the Candlelight concert series, dedicated to the Italian composer and arranger Ennio Morricone. The program includes soundtracks from the films “The Godfather”, “Once Upon a Time in America”, “The Mission”, “The Untouchables”, “The Caliph” and others.

21 MARCH. Concert dedicated to Queen

The following day, Noor Quartet will perform again at the Archaeological Museum of Alicante (MARQ), this time with a program dedicated to Queen. Performed by the quartet will be the following world-famous hits by the legendary British band led by Freddie Mercury: I Want to Break Free, We Will Rock You, Somebody to Love, Radio Ga Ga, Don’t Stop Me Now, Killer Queen, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, Who Wants to Live Forever, Bohemian Rhapsody, Love of My Life, We Are the Champions, Another One Bites the Dust.

21 MARCH. Children’s play “Robin Hood”

The Main Theatre of Alicante has resumed its English-language “Kids & Stories” series for children aged 3 to 10. This time, young spectators will be able to watch the play “Robin Hood” in the theatre foyer.

21 MARCH. Play “Las amistades peligrosas”

On the same day, the Main Theatre of Alicante will host the play “Las amistades peligrosas” (“Dangerous Liaisons”) by Christopher Hampton, based on the novel by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos. Although this play was written in 1782, it touches on modern themes – in particular, abuse of power and corruption that allows money to buy almost everything. Through characters with no moral limits, comparable to figures from recent scandals, it shows how the elite manipulates vulnerable people with impunity. The story remains relevant, revealing the use of love and sex as powerful weapons.

21 MARCH. Dani Martínez show

At the ADDA Concert Hall in Alicante, there will be a show by TV host, actor, impressionist, and comedian Dani Martínez. He will present his new program “Remember”, which combines music and improvisation. From an early age, Martínez showed talent for acting and impersonation, being able to imitate more than 200 different voices. In 2011, he received the “Silver Antenna” award – recognition highlighting his contribution to Spain’s television industry.
In this show, Dani travels through time from the year 2050 to the present to speak with the audience, share reflections on the changes that have taken place, and highlight moments that should not be forgotten when looking to the future.

21–22 MARCH. Theatrical tours “Torrevieja and the earthquake of 1829”

The cultural association Ars Creatio from Torrevieja presents a new version of its historical theatrical routes dedicated to the history of the city of Torrevieja in the first half of the 19th century – in particular, the earthquake of 21 March 1829.
The event is recommended for persons over 12 years old and will be conducted entirely in Spanish, combining history, theatre, and a walk around the city in order to introduce participants, in an engaging way, to the events, society, and everyday life of Torrevieja in that historical period.

22 MARCH. Play “Parejas imperfectas”

The Main Theatre of Alicante will host the play “Parejas imperfectas” (“Imperfect Couples”). Edu, an unemployed long-haul truck driver, and Ana, his ex-wife, meet again after she is left paralyzed as a result of an accident. Juan, a postgraduate student with cerebral palsy, hires Yanis, a university student and daughter of Serbo-Croatian immigrants who is experiencing financial difficulties, as his assistant. Their examples encourage a rethinking of the perception of people with physical limitations and of how social status, race, nationality, or financial situation can create a gap between people.

22 MARCH. Play “Música para Hitler”

At the Municipal Theatre of Torrevieja, the play “Música para Hitler” (“Music for Hitler”) will be staged. After the Spanish Civil War, the Catalan cellist, conductor, and composer Pau Casals was forced to emigrate to southern France. In 1943, during the German occupation, he received an invitation to perform before Hitler. Casals knew that refusing could have terrible consequences for him…
