Here is what residents and visitors of Torrevieja and nearby towns in Alicante province can enjoy at the end of this week.
10–13 September. Exhibition El oro y el universo. Saberes indígenas de Colombia
Until 2 May 2027, the Archaeological Museum of Alicante MARQ is hosting the major international exhibition El oro y el universo. Saberes indígenas de Colombia – “Gold and the Universe. Indigenous Knowledge of Colombia”.
Thanks to historic cooperation with the Gold Museum in Bogotá and the University of Cambridge, a unique collection of almost 300 sacred objects, masks and pectorals has arrived in Spain, completely changing the perception of the myth of El Dorado.
The exhibition includes 291 archaeological objects specially selected for this display, including around 157 gold pieces, as well as works by contemporary Indigenous communities.
Many of these exhibits are being shown in Spain for the first time. Hybrid beings attract particular attention – such as the famous “bat people” or “flying shamans”.
These objects are unique and exceptional not only for their design and technical mastery, but also for the important role they played in preserving the world.
Equally important are the ceramic and stone pieces, including a wide variety of plant and animal figures, some of which are now threatened by the destruction of their ecosystems.

10–13 September. Virtual tour Egipto. Un crucero por el Nilo
After the success of Luna and Titanic – projects that have already sold hundreds of thousands of tickets in cities such as Madrid, Los Angeles, Melbourne, Dubai, Rome and Paris – it is time for a new major adventure in virtual reality.
A journey through Ancient Egypt, with impressive scenery and surprising challenges, is available until 14 October at Virtual Zone Alicante, Plaza de los Luceros, 17, Floor 1.
First session: 9:00. Last session: 22:00. Tickets: 26 euros. Places for each session are limited.
10–13 September. Trip to Tabarca Island
Every day, visitors can take a boat from the ports of Torrevieja, Santa Pola or Alicante to Tabarca Island – the largest and only inhabited island in the Valencian Community.
Travellers can enjoy underwater views, discover rich marine biodiversity, try local restaurants and visit historic monuments.
The boat has capacity for 250 passengers, including people with reduced mobility and pets. Passengers may bring food and drinks on board.
Departures: from 9:30 to 18:45. Returns: from 10:30 to 19:30. Tickets from Torrevieja: 27 euros for adults and 19 euros for children.
11 September. Friday market in Torrevieja
Every Friday, Parque Antonio Soria hosts Torrevieja’s street market – one of the largest small-business hubs in the Vega Baja area.
Across an area of 82,000 m², there are up to 700 stalls selling food, clothing, shoes, accessories and other goods at prices that are often lower than in large supermarket chains.
The Torrevieja market offers many facilities – including free parking, public toilets and a taxi rank. Every 20 minutes from 8:00 to 14:00, there is an accessible bus service for people with reduced mobility or wheelchair users.
From Friday to Sunday, starting at 19:30, the amusement and games area is open for all ages.
12 September. Gran Circus Maximus circus show
Every Saturday until 26 September, Villajoyosa hosts the themed circus show Gran Circus Maximus at Partida Piletes, 26, dedicated to Ancient Rome’s most famous mass spectacle – gladiator fights.
In addition, the audience can enjoy a performance by one of Spain’s best groups specialising in work with horses.
Start time: 21:00. Tickets: 15.93 euros for children and 26.28 euros for adults. With dinner booking – 46.98 euros and 62.5 euros respectively.
12 September. Concert dedicated to Queen and ABBA
At the Archaeological Museum of Alicante MARQ, pianist Cristina Cámara will perform as part of the Candlelight concert series.
She will perform the following world-famous hits by Queen and ABBA: Dancing Queen, SOS, Money, Money, Money, Bohemian Rhapsody, I Want to Break Free, Waterloo, Super Trouper, Mamma Mia, Don’t Stop Me Now, We Will Rock You, We Are the Champions.

12 September. Las Cuatro Estaciones de Vivaldi concert
Later that evening, the Archaeological Museum of Alicante MARQ will host a performance by the Noor Quartet string quartet as part of the Candlelight concert series, dedicated to the Italian composer Antonio Vivaldi.
The programme includes the cycle of violin concertos The Four Seasons.

13 September. Concert by pianist Misha Dacic
Pianist Misha Dacic will perform at the International Auditorium of Torrevieja, opening a series of solo piano recitals in the city.
Recognised by critics as a true giant of the keyboard, the Serbian pianist, closely linked to the Miami International Piano Festival, will perform works by Liszt, Albéniz, Schumann and Bartók.

14 September. Comedy play Obitsyanky tsyatsyanky
The comedy play Obitsyanky tsyatsyanky will be staged at VB Spaces, located in Alicante at Avinguda d’Elx, 186.
It is a bold and provocative Ukrainian comedy about adult relationships, marriage and free rules, starring People’s Artist of Ukraine Volodymyr Horyanskyi and theatre and film actress Viktoria Bilan.
It tells the story of a married couple who decide to save their marriage through an open relationship without jealousy or obligations.
However, the situation gets out of control when the wife begins to exercise this right.
