This news has been a major boost to the stock market of tourism companies.

Thus, the top profitable four places on the Spanish stock exchange correspond to companies in this sector: specifically, Amrest heads the profits, gaining 41.74 per cent, while Meliá Hotels has advanced 37.08 percent; EdreamsOdigeo, 29.44 percent, and IAG, 26.07 percent. On the other hand, NH Hotels rose by 17.83% and Amadeus by 15%.

In Europe, while the Stoxx 600 travel industry index rose 7 per cent, the Carnival cruise company experienced a 37.93 per cent rise; EasyJet was up 35.56 per cent, and the Scottish passenger transport company Stagecoach was up 29.59 per cent. For its part, Air France has climbed 27.48 per cent, and Lufthansa, 19.88 per cent.
