Spain has officially adopted Real Decreto 316/2026 of April 14, 2026. This document changes the current rules for foreigners that had previously been approved under Real Decreto 1155/2024. This law introduces a new arraigo extraordinario – an emergency mass regularization procedure for foreigners who are already in Spain and can prove that they have ties to the country.
The new rules come into force on April 16, and applications will be accepted until June 30, 2026.
