Algorfa is a small inland town on the southern Costa Blanca in Spain close to Benejúzar, Almoradí, Heredades and Formentera del Segura.

The city of Algorfa is well connected by road, as it is very close to the Alicante-Cartagena toll highway and the CV-91 expressway that goes from Orihuela to Guardamar. If you want Algorfa to be your next holiday destination, it can be reached by plane, either Alicante or Murcia airport. Both airports are a 30-minute drive from the resort.

In its beginnings Algorfa was a large farm dedicated to agriculture and the cultivation of citrus, olive groves, vineyards and fig trees. As a curious fact we will say that the town center is divided into two parts; one belongs of course to the municipality of Algorfa and the other to the municipality of Almoradí.

Algorfa: Climate

Algorfa has a Mediterranean climate, which means that there are more than three hundred sunny days and very little rain in winter. In fact, the average annual temperature is 20 degrees.

Algorfa is a relatively small community with just over 2,000 permanent residents, with all apartments being newly built.

Algorfa: infrastructure and services

In the town of Algorfa itself, there are several traditional Spanish tapas bars, various shops, including a pharmacy and optician.

The closest beach is Guardamar. These are the fine sandy blue flag beaches, bars and restaurants located just a five minute drive away.

The nearest big city with its attractions, water parks, shops, marina, museums, bars, restaurants and the promenade is Torrevieja.

There are numerous local markets on different days of the week and many surround cities, towns and resorts.

La Finca Golf in Algorfa

Some people think that Algorfa is a golfer’s paradise with the superb 5-star La Finca de Golf on its doorstep, but there are many other high-quality Costa Blanca golf courses within easy reach, including Villamartin, Las Ramblas and Campoamor. La Finca is an 18-hole course designed by Pepe Gancedo, with a par of 72.
