Bookings for flights and accommodation for British tourists have soared following the announcement of the UK’s de-escalation plan, which includes international mobility from May if all goes well. This is confirmed by some websites and airlines such as ‘easeyJet’, which currently claims that flight bookings to Alicante or Mallorca have recently increased by more than 600%.
In addition, this trend is also confirmed by the Valencia Region Hotel Association Hosbec, although with the caution of waiting for the vaccination plan to work and for it to be confirmed that the restrictions will be reduced. However, most of the bookings that have been made in the last few days do include free cancellations in the event that the pandemic situation worsens, unlike what happened a year ago when the small print did not yet include the coronavirus.
“If the good figures on the pandemic in Spain and Europe are consolidated, and the vaccination schedule works, we could be talking about a better summer than last year,” said Hosbec’s general secretary, Nuria Montes, recently.
The hotel sector in Benidorm and the Costa Blanca also remains excited about the possibility that the Imserso will resume in September, as announced yesterday by the Minister Maroto, although the Hosbec employers admit that they have no more news for the moment.
