Direct Yerevan – Alicante flights
Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández Airport has launched direct regular air service with Armenia. The first FlyOne Armenia flight from Yerevan arrived in El Altet, opening a new and rather unusual route.
As a result, El Altet has become the second airport in Spain after Barcelona to have direct flights to Armenia. It is increasingly moving away from the image of a purely tourist airport associated with seasonal tourism, sun and beach.
Flights will operate twice a week, on Thursdays and Sundays, according to schedules published by portals specializing in air routes. AeroRoutes gives the flight schedule as follows:
- 3F711 – departing Yerevan at 16:20 and arriving in Alicante at 19:40, operated by an Airbus A320.
- 3F712 – the return Alicante-Yerevan flight departing El Altet at 20:40 and arriving in Armenia early in the morning, at 03:20.
A new route for the Costa Blanca
The significance of this route goes beyond simply opening a new destination. Alicante continues to expand its influence in less traditional markets, as Armenia is not a mass market for Spain, nor a common destination at national airports. Therefore, the arrival of FlyOne Armenia in Alicante opens a new door between the Costa Blanca coast and the Caucasus, with potential for tourists, residents, family visits and cultural ties.
The longest direct flight from El Altet
Another detail makes this connection special: the Alicante-Yerevan route has been presented as the longest direct flight operated from El Altet Airport. Some specialized media noted that the distance is even greater than the route to Icelandic Reykjavik. Aviation portals estimate the distance between Alicante and Yerevan at approximately 2398 miles, while the flight time ranges from 5 hours 30 minutes to 5 hours 50 minutes depending on direction, schedule and flight conditions.
