Properties in Benalmádena
Before buying a property in Benalmádena, it is worth exploring the town and choosing the area that suits you best. Benalmádena is divided into three main areas: Benalmádena Pueblo - away from the sea, situated at the foot of the mountains; Benalmádena Costa - on the coast; and Arroyo de la Miel - an area built on the site of an old fishing village. Benalmádena even has its own Venice, the area of Puerto Marina, which, as the name suggests, is situated close to the port. Houses here "grow" right out of the water, and the most affordable Benalmádena homes, in these types of buildings, will cost around 150,000 euros. House prices in Benalmádena are moderate but slightly higher than in the neighbouring city of Fuengirola. Second-hand properties in Benalmádena can be bought from 60 000 euros for an apartment and from 150 000 euros for a house. A newly built property in Benalmádena can be purchased from 135,000 euros for an apartment and from 470,000 euros for a house. The housing market in Benalmádena has more apartments than houses. The low-rise buildings are mainly in the Torrequebrada and Urbanizaciones neighbourhoods. Regarding Benalmadena's attractions, there is a large amusement park, Tivoli World, with a cable car that takes you to an altitude of about 800 m2 and allows you to admire the beautiful views of the mountains and the coast. Also in Benalmádena, there is a lovely park - Parque de la Paloma; the Sea Life Center - a marine zoo with a great variety of sharks; the Buddhist Enlightenment Stupa - the largest in Europe; as well as museums, churches and the beautiful castle of Colomares, dedicated to Christopher Columbus.
