Time frame for obtaining an NIE in Spain
By law, the NIE application process in Spain should not exceed 5 days. For a property purchase, you can obtain an NIE at the Oficinas de Extranjeros at the police station. The number is assigned on the spot. You receive a document with the tax number, which is assigned permanently.
The NIE service in Spain includes:
