HOW TO RENT AN APARTMENT IN TORREVIEJA:

In the case of long-term rentals, the situation is more complicated: in addition to your passport, NIE or resident card, you will most likely need documents proving your ability to pay. We are talking about your employment contract, as well as your pay slips (nóminas) for at least the last three months' wages. In addition, the landlord may ask for a potential tenant's bank statement or other documents. In the case of students, these documents may be requested from their parents, who are expected to pay for their housing. It is also helpful to have a reference letter from previous landlords if you have rented before and have a reputation as a model tenant.

If we talk about short term rentals, the minimum term for rental apartments in Torrevieja, as such, does not exist - you can rent apartments from a few days. When renting for a few weeks or months there are very good discounts - the longer the term, the more favorable the cost of housing. When renting in Spain for a long term rental contract is usually signed for a year, but the tenant has the right to terminate the lease after six months of stay by giving 30 days notice to the landlord.

The rent includes only the comunidad and garbage fees and taxes, i.e. they have to be paid by the landlord from the amount he receives in rent. The landlord pays the water and electricity bills, as well as the Internet bill, in addition to the rent.

Apartments with pets in Torrevieja is possible to rent, but it is necessary to discuss this issue with the landlord. Some landlords do not accept pets in their homes, others are quite tolerant. You may have to leave an additional deposit (fiancee) in case your pet spoils something in the apartment.
