Sierra Blanca is the most expensive and most fashionable urbanization of Marbella. It spreads on the slopes and at the foot of the La Concha mountain, which is part of the Sierra Blanca mountain range, stretching along the coast of Marbella and having the status of a natural reserve (or rather, the UNESCO biosphere reserve). Actually, the urbanization got its name from it.
Perhaps fantastic views of the Sierra Blanca urbanization can be called its hallmark card: 300 m above sea level provide a panoramic view of the entire coast, the Mediterranean Sea and no less prestigious neighboring areas, and even Gibraltar, the Strait of Gibraltar and the distant shore of Africa are visible from some points.
Most of the villas and mansions are designed in such a way that every window and every terrace has a beautiful view. No less attention is being given to gardens: landscape designers try to harmoniously fit each residential complex and each villa into a single urbanization ensemble, as well as surrounding pine forests and a natural park.
Sierra Blanca: location
Sierra Blanca is located northwest of Marbella, above the Mediterranean Highway AP-7. The urbanization is limited by the said highway from the south, by a mountain range that provides protection against northwestern winds from the north, and by two small streams – Arroyo de la Piedras and Arroyo de Guadalpin from the west and east.
The distance from the urbanization of Sierra Blanca to:
- Center of Marbella – 4 km;
- Puerto Banus – 7 km;
- Malaga International Airport – 55 km.
The Costa del Sol is considered the sunniest coast of Spain, so Sierra Blanca, like its neighbouring resorts, is immersed in sunshine virtually all year round. There are almost no undeveloped plots on the territory of the urbanization, so we can assume that its infrastructure and layout are fully formed.
Sierra Blanca is a closed guarded urbanization, where the demand for properties far exceeds the supply. No crisis has had the slightest impact on real estate prices in this area and has not reduced demand: so, from an investment standpoint, Sierra Blanca has been and remains one of the most attractive destinations on the entire coast of Marbella. As a result, the pricing policy in Sierra Blanca should not be expected to be flexible.
The respectable urbanization for wealthy people – this is how Sierra Blanca can be described in a few words. Together with the Golden Mile and La Zagaleta, it is the TOP 3 most expensive urbanizations of the Costa del Sol. Sierra Blanca is often called the Spanish Beverly Hills.
The Infrastructure of Sierra Blanca
Sierra Blanca is an area of exclusive development: villas and mansions with large land plots alternate with closed residential complexes. There are not many apartment buildings here (the most famous apartment complexes are Lagos de Sierra Blanca and El Alfar) and proposals for the sale of apartments (as well as bungalows and townhouses) are published in limited numbers. Sierra Blanca is chosen for something else – for beautiful cottages, luxury villas and premium mansions, characterized by high quality construction. Most people come here for elitism, solitude, safety and comfort, for respectable neighborhood and prestige, and some people come here for the opportunity to rest incognito.
Sierra Blanca is a relatively young residential area. Its construction began in the early 1990s. First, several villas were built, and by the end of the 90s, active construction has already begun throughout the entire urbanization area.
Sierra Blanca is home to one of the best private British coastal schools – Swans International School. Primary and middle classes are taught in different buildings. The school accepts children from 5 to 18 years old and prepares them for the GCSE and International Baccalaureate programs.
Also, on the territory of the urbanization, there are sports clubs, the Hotel Sierra Blanca Resort & Spa, medical centers (for example, the branch of the German clinic Buchinger Wilhelmi). In the northern part, numerous hiking trails are laid along the most picturesque corners of the area, and observation platforms are well equipped.
One of the most popular destinations for hiking and cycling is the Cascada de Camoján waterfalls, located on the territory of the residential complex of the same name, harmoniously integrated into the surrounding landscape. Pine forest, mountain slopes, villas in the classic Andalusian style – something you never get tired of admiring.
In the vicinity of Sierra Blanca, on the territory of neighboring urbanizations, there are several prestigious golf clubs (Marbella Golf Country Club, Banús Executive Golf and many others), tennis and padel clubs, beauty salons and numerous parks. The Golden Mile is home to the coast’s trendiest nightclubs, beautiful beaches, and gourmet restaurants. Just a few minutes by car – and you can enjoy the beauties of Marbella or the luxury of Puerto Banus boutiques.
Also within a short drive, there are prestigious educational centers: The British International School of Marbella, Laude San Pedro International College, Aloha College International School of Marbella, Marbella International University, Les Roches Global Hospitality Education and The American College in Spain.
On the other side of the Arroyo de la Piedras river, there is the Nagüeles Park with numerous walking paths, a children’s play area and, most importantly, a well-equipped barbecue and picnic area.
