Spain has shown significant progress in the Global Quality of Life Index compiled by Numbeo, taking 18th place worldwide in 2025. Ten years ago, it ranked 24th.The report, which evaluates 30 countries based on data on cost of living, safety, healthcare, environmental pollution, and other indicators, reflects a positive trend for Spain in the international perception of quality of life. This year Spain outperforms such advanced economies as the United Kingdom (22nd), Canada (27th), Ireland (28th), and France (29th).

This progress is partly driven by the healthcare system, social welfare policies, and a safe environment, which have increased life satisfaction among the population. In addition, factors such as climate, culture, and the range of services continue to position Spain as one of the most desirable places both for tourism and for living.
