Process for obtaining the SIP card in Spain
First, a foreign citizen is assigned a social security number. You can get it by filling out an application form and providing a complete set of documents:
passport,
resident card,
proof of registration at your address in Spain (empadronamiento).
After this, you will receive a social security number and a special document confirming your right to medical care.
You must present your social security number, passport, and residence card at your first visit to the Centro de Salud for your area.
