The beaches in the Les Rotes area with the exception of La Marineta Cassiana beach (located adjacent to the port) are rocky, with crystal clear water and perfect for diving and snorkelling. These beaches are located in a marine reserve and, therefore, in order to practice diving you must obtain a licence from the Alicante Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (telephone: 012 / 963 866 000). Please note that the issuance of licences is limited. Also, when you go to these beaches do not forget your water booties, since both the coast and the seabed are covered with stones.

Marineta Cassiana Beach

This small semi-urban beach is covered in fine golden sand and it is located next to the port of Denia. The beach has all the necessary infrastructure to spend an excellent holiday. Also, this is a very popular beach and it is usually crowded during the high season. The Marineta Cassiana beach is perfect for those who prefer a relaxing holiday and for water sports lovers. In addition, a beach bar opens in summer, and across the road are numerous bars and restaurants.

El Trampolí beach

This picturesque rocky beach is ideal for diving and snorkelling: the seabed here is part of a nature reserve. The fact that this area is protected, on the one hand, guarantees an unforgettable diving experience and, on the other, entails some restrictions. In order to practice diving in this area you must obtain a license from the Alicante Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (telephone: 012 / 963 866 000). You should be aware that only 15 licenses are issued per day. Also, since the beach is not sandy but rocky, it is recommended to use water booties. Likewise, next to El Trampolí beach there are restaurants that make the best rice dishes of the Costa Blanca (remember that Denia was recognized as the gastronomic capital (Ciudad Creativa de la Gastronomía) of the Mediterranean by UNESCO.

Punta Negra beach

The rocky Punta Negra beach is located in a marine reserve area, which makes it an excellent place for snorkelling and diving. The beach was named after the dark (almost black) colour of its rocks. It is recommended to use water booties on this beach. In addition, there are world-famous restaurants near the Punta Negra beach, where you can enjoy delicious octopus and even sea urchin dishes.

Arenetes Beach

It is a rocky beach located in the area of ​​a marine nature reserve and it is of great interest among diving and snorkelling lovers. Next to Arenetes Beach, there is a small rocky cove with clear turquoise water, named La Cala, where you can practice nudism. It can only be reached on foot from the Arenetes beach.
