It is official. The Royal Spanish Athletics Federation (Real Federación Española de Atletismo) has just made public the Spanish team that will participate in the next Olympic Games in Tokyo. Among the selected ones, there is the native athlete of Torrevieja, Luis Manuel Corchete Martínez, who will represent Spain in the test of the 50 km race walk the next 6 of August.

Luis Manuel Corchete Martínez, has spent a lifetime dedicated to athletics, particularly to race walking. This athlete was trained at the age of seven in the municipal school of athletics and later in the Club Atletismo Torrevieja, entity to which he belongs since its beginnings. At 37 years of age, he achieved this historic Olympic qualification and places our city in the world epicentre of sport.
