Digital nomad visa in Spain: everything you need to know

The term “digital nomads” in Spanish law refers to individuals who are citizens of third countries (non-EU) and work remotely for companies located outside of Spain. At the same time, these employees must prove their education, qualifications, and professional experience.

To obtain a digital nomad visa in Spain, the visa applicants should meet a number of requirements:

1. They must work remotely for a company located outside of Spain.
2. Those who are self-employed (freelancers) are allowed to work for a company located in Spain, as long as the income from this activity does not exceed 20% of total earnings.
3. They must prove their education, qualifications, and professional experience (at least 3 years).
4. It is also necessary to prove the possibility of working remotely.
5. They need to work for a foreign company for at least 3 months.
6. They must not have a criminal record within the last 5 years.

The digital nomad visa is valid for 1 year. Then you can get a residence permit for 3 years, and when it’s over, renew it for 2 years more.

Process of obtaining a digital nomad visa service in Spain
