Warm sea, a strip of golden sand, lazily swaying palm trees, a frosted glass of chilled orange juice and a laptop on your knees – this is exactly how your workplace should look, right? Then let’s go – we are heading to the Mediterranean coast: today we will choose for you the best cities for remote work in Spain.
What main criteria should a city meet if you are going to carry out your useful and, undoubtedly, pleasant activity there? We believe the following parameters are especially important:
- Warm climate all year round: not too hot and with plenty of sunny days.
- Proximity to the sea and well-maintained beaches.
- Developed urban infrastructure: local and intercity transport connections, supermarket chains and shops, clinics, schools, banks, restaurants, beauty salons, etc.
- Affordable property prices and cost of living in general.
- High quality and great variety of food products.
- Cultural and leisure opportunities: sights, parks, entertainment.
- Proximity to an international airport.

All these conditions are perfectly met both by large Spanish cities such as Valencia and Alicante, and by small picturesque resorts along the Costa Blanca coast. Judge for yourself:
- Mild Mediterranean climate without extreme temperatures, with more than 320 sunny days a year.
- Warm Mediterranean Sea. As many as 74 beaches of the Costa Blanca in the province of Alicante have been awarded the prestigious Blue Flag for cleanliness and excellent facilities, and in 2021 this became a historic maximum for this coastline.
- Excellent transport connections:
- The AP-7 motorway connects Valencia and Alicante with the resort towns along the coast. In addition, this road has the European code E-15 and links the Costa Blanca with France and the United Kingdom (plus a short ferry ride).
- The national road N-332 runs parallel to the AP-7. Starting from Alicante, the AP-7 turns into the A-7 motorway and heads towards Elche, Murcia and Andalusia, while the N-332 continues along the coast all the way to the southernmost point of the province of Alicante – Pilar de la Horadada.
- Another option is the historic railway line El Trenet de la Marina, which runs along the coast of Alicante and is currently used as a long-distance tram line. Other railway lines run inland, through the Vinalopó Valley and the La Hoya de Elche area.
- The average price of housing in the Valencian Community and the province of Alicante, according to the real estate portal idealista.com, in May 2025 was 2.158 €/m2 and 2.464 €/m2 respectively. For comparison: the Community of Madrid – 4.148 €/m2.
- Both Valencia and Alicante have large international airports.
Now let’s take a closer look at each of our resorts, so that everyone can choose the most suitable option for comfortable remote work and, of course, for life. Let’s start with the largest city on our list:
