Taxes on Home Ownership in Tenerife

As for the tax rates on real estate ownership in Tenerife, it is worth mentioning the following:

  • Municipal property tax IBI (it depends on the cadastral value, takes into account the area, year of construction and condition of the object) in the amount of 0.15% of the real value of the property object.
  • State tax for non-residents who own Spanish real estate (the calculation also comes from the cadastral value, often coinciding with the IBI).
  • Garbage collection tax. It is charged twice a year, the total amount will be about 50 euros.
